Shanghai Bell Language School, covering an area of 16,000 square meters is
located in the Jinqiao Development Zone of Pudong New Area, very close to the
Huangpu River. It is built in western style, modeled partly on the Bell Cambridge School. External facilities include a sports field, a Foreign Experts apartment block,and
student dormitories, all conducive to an excellent learning environment. Internally, the school is equipped with a wide range of teaching and learning facilities to standards prescribed by Bell International and include a multi-functional room, reading room, language laboratory, and computer laboratory.
Bell Shanghai runs a variety of programmes:IELTS,Business English,English for special purposes,Intermidiate and Higher Interpretation Courses,Oral English for Primary and Secondary school students and English Teachers Training course. All the courses are designed by authorities on language education both from China and Bell International.
The school is managed in accordance with Bell principles and procedures, and implemented by an Academic Manager seconded from Bell UK. The large majority of the teaching is conducted by foreign teachers, with Chinese teachers playing an important ancillary role. Each Bell group is small, with an average of 14 per class and a maximum of 20. Careful placement tests ensure that students are allocated to a group appropriate to their level.
